About Us
University Campus Ministries Calgary's purpose is to serve and support students & faculty on campus with their Christian walk. UCM has a broad umbrella that reaches all throughout Canada. In Calgary, we serve our three major campuses: U of C, MRU, and SAIT. Working in close relations with each school, we are honoured to be recognized as chaplains of the university and assist with any clubs and student endeavours. Our hearts desire is that Jesus is known throughout our campuses and that faculty and students are free to express their faith!
Relationally mentoring and equipping university students as they serve Jesus on their campuses in their city and around the world.

The Team

U of C & MRU Chaplain
Kelly Johnson
Kelly loves the energy and diversity of campus life. He is passionate about helping people encounter God in the every-day world of studies and research and through service learning locally and globally.
Kelly met Barb during his first degree, have four kids now and have traveled in many countries of the world together. Kelly spends most of his time at U of C but oversees UCM's work at SAIT and MRU as well.

SAIT Chaplain
Art Kung
Art Kung is a SAIT alumnus from the Emergency Medical Technician program, and is now our full-time chaplain at SAIT! He enjoyed a life of adventure in the air ambulance industry - bringing help and hope to some very critical scenarios over the years. He served in Youth With a Mission (YWAM) as a Discipleship Training School Director and a Base Leader for over 20 years! Art enjoys good coffee and good hockey, so he's always up for a cup of joe or a pickup game on the ice.

Chaplain
Daniel Mok
Daniel is a devout rice eater, boba connoisseur, serial podcast listener and creator, but most importantly, a Jesus lover. After graduating from UofC, he taught English abroad for 3 years. Daniel now serves full-time as associate chaplain at the UofC and Pentecostal chaplain at SAIT. He is enrolled in a Master of Theological Studies at Tyndale Seminary.
Daniel loves to dive deep into the intersections of faith, life, and culture, but finds walking alongside students in their faith journey on and off campus to be the most fulfilling. When not on campus or in classes, Daniel can be found enjoying a good book, championing Asian excellence, or walking on the Way.

Ministry Associate
Logan Johnson
Logan is our ministry associate at UCM. He oversees our Convergence times and loves taking time to think deeply through our topics. He graduated from the UofC with his undergrad in Philosophy and Religious studies and is now studying his Master of Education also at UofC. He also works as a youth pastor at Journey Church. Logan does all of this alongside his wife Olivia and now has the blessing of raising his son Esmond.

Ministry Aide
Stephanie Alexandre
Stephanie is a recent UCalgary graduate from the English and Drama program, and a hockey goalie-turned-theatre-nerd. She is passionate about getting to know people and their stories, and sharing the love of Jesus through the Arts- whether through music, on the page, stage, or over a cup of tea and some good conversation. She is excited for what God has in store for UCM and the UCalgary campus, and the wonderful community of students and staff He has brought together. In her free time, Steph enjoys volunteering as a youth leader at Journey Church, playing sports, and going on long walks with her terrifyingly large but incredibly friendly dogs.

Ministry Associate
Tina Romero
Tina recently finished her studies within Law and Society at the University of Calgary. She is passionate about leading worship and creating spaces where people can encounter God through music. She loves getting to know students and hearing their stories, and is excited to see how God will move in and through the campus community. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and going for drives while blasting music. Honestly, Forrest Frank is probably playing in the background, 90% of the time.
